The Costa del Sol.
A region in the south of Spain in the autonomous community of Andalucia. It comprises the coastal towns and communities along the coastline of the Province of Málaga and the eastern part of Campo de Gibraltar in Cádiz.
Formerly made up of only small fishing settlements, today it is a world-renowned tourist destination. Is situated between two lesser known coastal areas, the Costa de la Luz and the Costa Tropical. Both of which areas we are expanding into today.
The Costa del Sol has no officially designated boundaries. However, it is generally considered that the area (or “region”) extends from Tarifa in the west to Nerja in the east. Here it borders the Costa Tropical in the province of Granada.
In summary, generally speaking the Costa del Sol can be described as the southernmost region of the province of Málaga. In the autonomous community of Andalucia, and the eastern area of Campo de Gibraltar in the province of Cádiz .
